George Washington
George Washington Facts
George Washington the first President of The United States of America. Washington was elected by the Electoral College without dissent, everyone voted for him. He served as president from 1789-1797. Before he became president, Washington was the commander-in-chief of The Continental Army. He led the charge to victory, and won the revolutionary war against the British.
George Washington was very insightful and once said, "Firearms are second only to the Constitution in importance; they are the peoples' liberty's teeth." Washington meant peoples rights are the most important thing in the United States and the firearms are to protect those rights so they are second in importance. Leading into my next quote from Washington, "Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master." In the first quote he speaks about firearms and he means firearms for protection from government. In the second quote Washington is speaking about how the anything the government does is unreasonable and the only way they can accomplish a goal is by force or stealing. Government rules us but its purpose is to serve us.
The government has power over us and they can only use it two ways. First, to take the peoples money and then provide inadequate services. When these services fail, or go bankrupt, government has to put the blame on corporations and not enough regulation. I honestly believe the regulations are written, because government officials are paid to pass these into law. Corporations write the regulations, and find their corresponding representative in congress to pass it. The reason corporations want to pass regulation is because it will eliminate competition of smaller companies in their market who can't afford fees, etc. This is what creates monopolies, not free markets.
The second way government can use their power is to let the people keep their money, choose how they would like to spend it in the market place, and create competition. Government eliminates competition when they choose one company to fund over another. So many federally funded green energy companies went bankrupt. If only we kept the principles that once were instilled in the US.
Founding Fathers
President Washington, mentions claims of false patriotism, "Guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism." He knew then that someone would do harmful acts in the name of patriotism. Almost everything the US does today is against it's original principles.
If freedom of speech is taken away, it will be easier for government to mold society. This in essence also eliminates competition. If everyone is the same and thinks the same, there is no innovation.
"If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter." George Washington. Without the freedom to say what you feel or think you are going to be taken advantage of. I lived in a suburb right outside of New York City and everyone seemed to think the same and have the same mentality. Once I moved to San Francisco my life changed and I started to think differently. I learned so much more changing environments. I saw how people had different mannerism and spoke differently in other areas. This is why I feel we should maintain The Constitution of the United States and keep it because it contains our rights.
